About Us
Offshore Sportsbooks is an independent research site for US bettors looking at offshore sportsbooks — the books licensed outside the United States that continue to accept players from states with no regulated online betting market. We compare these operators on odds, market coverage, bonuses, payout speed and banking options, and we write plainly about the risks that come with betting outside US regulation.
We are not a sportsbook. We don't take bets, hold customer funds, or process withdrawals. Our job is to research publicly available information about each operator — licensing, terms, banking options, promotions and reputation — and turn it into a comparison that's useful before you ever create an account.
Why This Site Exists
Search "offshore sportsbooks" or "sportsbooks that accept US players" and you'll find pages of marketing copy dressed up as reviews. Our starting point is different: offshore books sit in a legal grey area for US bettors. They are licensed offshore — commonly in jurisdictions like Curaçao, Panama or Costa Rica — and none of them are regulated by a US state gaming authority. That means the consumer protections you'd get from a regulated operator — segregated player funds, a state dispute-resolution process, licensing oversight with real enforcement power — simply don't apply. We think readers deserve to know that clearly, not buried in a footnote, before they compare bonus offers.
Every state has its own stance on online betting and offshore books specifically. We don't provide legal advice, and nothing on this site should be read as a legal opinion on whether using an offshore book is permitted where you live. Check your own state's current laws, and if you're unsure, speak with a qualified professional before depositing anywhere.
How We Score and Rank Sites
We assess each offshore sportsbook against the same set of factors every time. Commission from an operator never buys a higher position on our page — the ranking order reflects our editorial assessment, not advertising spend.
- Licensing and track record — where the operator is licensed, and how long it has operated with a reputation for paying out
- Odds and pricing — line quality across point spreads, moneylines, totals and props, including where reduced-vig pricing is available
- Market coverage — depth of sports, in-play/live betting, parlays and same-game parlays, and futures markets
- Bonuses and terms — we look past the headline number to the rollover requirements, minimum odds and time limits attached to any welcome or reload offer
- Banking — deposit and withdrawal methods, including crypto, along with typical payout speed, limits and fees
- Verification (KYC) — how much documentation is required and how it affects withdrawal timing
- Support and site security — responsiveness of customer support and basic account security practices
Sites near the top of our list, such as Lucky Rebel, Bovada and BetOnline, tend to score well across most of these criteria, but no offshore book is flawless. Every review notes at least one genuine limitation alongside the strengths — bonuses always carry rollover requirements, verification can slow a first withdrawal, and payout speed varies by method and by book. We'd rather flag that than let a welcome offer speak for itself.
What We Won't Do
- We won't call an offshore sportsbook "licensed and regulated" in a way that implies US state-level oversight — it isn't.
- We won't present betting tips or picks as guaranteed winners, and we won't frame betting as a way to make money reliably.
- We won't strip material terms — rollover, minimum odds, time limits — away from a bonus figure.
- We won't write content aimed at anyone under 21. Every offshore sportsbook we cover requires bettors to meet a minimum age, and this site is intended for adult readers only.
Responsible Gambling Comes First
Betting involves the risk of losing money, and offshore books add a further risk: because they sit outside US regulation, there's no state authority to force a payout if a dispute arises. We factor payout reputation into every ranking, but we can't guarantee any operator will pay promptly, or at all, in every case.
Offshore sportsbooks often have lighter self-exclusion and responsible-gambling tools than regulated US operators, so it's worth setting your own limits before you deposit. If betting stops feeling like entertainment, free and confidential help is available around the clock through the National Council on Problem Gambling helpline at 1-800-GAMBLER. Our Responsible Gambling page has more on setting limits and where to find support.
How We Stay Independent
Offshore Sportsbooks earns revenue through affiliate partnerships with some of the sportsbooks listed on this site — if you sign up through a link here, we may receive a commission. That relationship never decides our rankings or ratings. Operators cannot pay for a better score, and a book's placement can move if our research turns up a change worth flagging, whether that's slower payouts, tighter withdrawal limits, or new terms on a bonus.
Full terms covering how this site operates, including our disclaimers and limitations, are set out on our Terms and Conditions page.
Questions About Our Reviews?
If something on this site looks out of date, or you've had an experience with an offshore book that doesn't match what we've written, we want to hear about it. Reach us through the Contact Us page and we'll look into it.
This site is intended for adults aged 21 and over. Betting on sports involves financial risk, and offshore sportsbooks carry additional risk because they operate outside US state regulation. Bet only what you can afford to lose, and if gambling stops being fun, call 1-800-GAMBLER.
